The North Dakota LGBTQ+ Minecraft Server

Hello! I'm a pretty hardcore Minecraft player with a few thousand hours across my life. I wanted to create a server that was open to all the LGBTQ+ folks across North Dakota to come together and have fun. I also wanted it to be a place we could build things together that would be there forever. Every block we place or take matters. And I think there is a lot of resiliency and hope in just the act of creation and creativity that Minecraft allows.

While we're still experimenting on everything, right now the plan is to have a yearly server. Starting fresh each year, inviting new and old players, and saving our history for anyone to explore the old worlds that were created. Referral - This has to be someone who knows me that can vouch for you or someone who is part of an established LGBTQ+ organization or professional like a therapist. Or you can be referred by someone who is on the server. If that is the case the person who is referring you is responsible for you.

Note - If you cannot fill out this form. You can send me this required information manually. I would prefer the form if possible.

Server Properties

A discord is the primary hub of communication for players and the server.
It's hosted 24/7, people can play however their schedules aligns
It's a Java-Based Server that can take Bedrock players too. But it won't have Bedrock features.
It's a modded server, but no features will require someone use modded minecraft. It'll mostly be a Vanilla experience.
There will be proximity chat as a server side mod, allowing players to talk to each other if they're close. Otherwise there is no integrated audio chat feature with the discord.
It's a family friendly server, please keep any conversation PG oriented and casual in nature.
Server will last one year and then a world download will be created. There will be a history of every LGBTQ+ Rainbow Server, so all creations no matter how big or small will be preserved.

Server Rules

Hi, there are a lot of rules below and most of them amount to just being good to each other, and keeping this space family friendly, safe, and casual. If you don't want your build interrupted by others, build further out. And if you want to build something, the answer is generally go for it and don't break anything someone else made. Spawn is sort of anything goes for building, go wild. It will ideally be a pretty casual and fun experience, but the rules below are a bit of a bill of rights for the server.

Discord

All rules for the server, generally apply to the discord
The discord and server is for active players. You may be kicked for inactivity for longer than a month, without prior communication. You can come back on at any time by request, when you want to be active again.

General

Invest in each other and try to make this a safe place. Life is stressful, and there will always be conflict and drama that happens. We can't avoid that. But as things occur, please try to center this space and each other.
Keep the space family-friendly.
Avoid trauma dumping. If you need help, there are a lot of places to reach out to, and Faye can help direct you, but not everyone on the server or discord is going to be in a good space to respond to trauma.
Please don't livestream on the server. If you are someone who does livestreaming and would like to show things off to your audience, please talk to Faye for permission and times.
Rules may be updated based on need, and consequences are reviewed on case-by-case basis.

Specific

No harassing or making individuals feel uncomfortable. If someone asks you to stop doing something, please respect boundaries.

Respect people's privacy and avoid sharing personal information.
If you have any problems that occur, please reach out to a Moderator.

Minecraft Rules

No griefing - that will result in a warning, with consistent behavior leading to a ban.

Anything within ~200 blocks of spawn is free for everyone to build. If you'd prefer your builds not be interrupted by other players, please build closer to 200-300 blocks away. If you are claiming outside of spawn, please put up signs and markers to denote so. If you're building within sight of another big build outside of spawn, please get permission from the player.
You generally have permission to build and destroy things you've built. You generally don't have permission to destroy things you haven't built. Try to use your sense, be considerate, and polite.
Avoid behavior that might hurt other people's experiences - stealing items, destroying end portal frames, void traps, etc.
Expect that if you have chests in the open, people will open them. If you'd like things private, make sure they're enclosed in some way, with the entrance clearly marked as private.

Avoid glitches or item duping - Exception this season is TNT duping is allowed for experienced red stoners.

SEASON 1 - THE RAINBOW SERVER

This server ran from March 3rd, 2025 to June 7th, 2026. There were 26 total players and an ARG that corresponded with key server events like opening the Nether and the End. Individuals can download that world here.
