Transgender Night of Hope Details
The Transgender Night of Hope is a sister event to the Transgender Day of Remembrance. This night encourages folks to share messages of hope, inspire resiliency, and be a warm memory we can hold onto as we head into winter. This event was a digital event that took place on Nov 20th on Facebook Live. Folks can also watch it on YouTube right now!
This event also raised money for trans mutual aid efforts and if you want to get a feel for the night, you can check out the musical intro video below!

Event History
Hello, my name is Faye Seidler and I'm a Suicide Prevention Advocate. I created the Transgender Night of Hope as a sibling event to Transgender day of Remembrance, with the purpose of creating hope and resiliency after the heaviness of the remembrance event. This event originally took place on November 20th, 2023. If anyone outside of North Dakota or inside North Dakota would like to do an event like this - as such, I hold no ownership for the name, idea, or concept, but would love to see it repeated!
I think while Transgender Day of Remembrance has a place for many, it comes just two weeks after we lose an hour of sunlight, just before winter really sets in, and just a couple days before Thanksgiving. There are so many difficult changes happening that can be even harder given family dynamics. I wanted a warm send off that made sure hope was in focused. That no matter those lost and those honored, we do have hope. And I think it's important to end that night with that.
